Hello and hooray ! At last we are opening our doors again from this
Wednesday 2nd December
just after our 2nd Birthday (1st December). How quickly the two years have flown and this last – what a year it has been ! – never to be repeated again. We know the feeling for everyone is mutual. Despite the drama of this year we wish to thank you all for your continued support. It makes such a difference when you all wish us well; a little comment here, a little comment there – it really gives us a lift.
Myself, Elaine and Sara (Terry behind the scenes) are so looking forward to welcoming you again. We will be smiling behind our masks. It is quite true you can tell someone is smiling by just looking at the eyes. We adore Christmas and we can’t wait to show you all our new products. We await your reactions to our fabulous unique Christmas decorations and gift ideas. We hope to entice and tempt you. Go on you know you want to.
It feels completely alien at this point to have a shop full of Christmas goodies without any customers inside.
We will be keeping to a maximum of 4 customers in store to be covid secure as before. We know at times that this will be frustrating and some of you may have to wait patiently outside and we hope you can bear with us. To compensate and to try and avoid this scenario we are extending our opening hours until Christmas to the following :
Monday – Wednesday 9.30am – 5.30pm
Thursday – Saturday 9.30am – 7.00pm
Sunday 10.30am – 4.30pm
We have managed to obtain our infamous berry smelling hand sanitiser again. Remarkable and bizarre to become well known for our hand sanitiser. You are all becoming great connoisseurs and we are delighted ours is one of the best smelling in town. They say any publicity is good publicity – where ever it comes from. I still can’t understand why this is so much more expensive than my favourite perfume ! That can’t be right – can it ?
Click and Collect has been very successful through the month of November and we will be continuing with this going forward. We can now proudly say that more than 90% of our products are online. Our longer opening hours up to Christmas will benefit you using this service and it is possible to order and collect the same day. For those of you that like to window shop online but don’t like to buy online we can take orders and payment over the phone. For those of you that are furher afield we are still able to dispatch your order by post / courier (Free delivery over £50).
We have had many lovely comments on our windows, its always good to know that these are being viewed and admired. Windows are going to be changed again early next week before re-opening. Do come along and have a peek.
Thank you for those cheeky comments on my very brief TV Spotlight appearance last week. Five minutes interview condensed to a few seconds. I was told not to look at the camera (and yes you got it – I looked at the camera !).
We are participating in the “Alternative Tavistock Christmas Tree Festival 2020” like many other shops and buisnesses to raise funds for St Eustachius. You can pick up a booklet from St Eustachius church or the visitor information centre to guide you through the festival. You can vote for your favourite and enter a prize draw. This is taking place 4th -15th December throughout Tavistock.
Please keep e-mailing in your photos of Cabana products in-situ. You are all very creative and it gives us good ideas going forward. Next prize draw will be end of December to win Cabana vouchers and a mystery prize.
Lastly we are still selling £1 raffle tickets for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to win a years adoption of an orphaned elephant of your choice gifted by Cabana. Sadly this had been halted in November. Do make sure you get your ticket. The prize draw will take place Saturday 19th December. There will be a 2nd and 3rd prize all elephant related donated by Cabana. 100% of all donations and raffle ticket sales will go directly to The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
We look forward to seeing you all soon. Stay safe, stay well.
Best wishes team Cabana
Nathalie, Terry, Sara and Elaine
